How do I format RCMLoader to FAT16? Windows defaults to FAT12

Hi All,
I've read that formatting an RCMLoader to FAT16 can fix the issue with Hekate 6.0.1 not working on it. But I'm wondering how to format it to FAT16? When I format in Windows 11 the options or NTFS or FAT. When I select FAT it formats it to FAT12 rather than FAT16. So how do I get it to FAT16?

I can't even get rufus to see the RCMLoader unless I'm doing something wrong

I tried that and EaseUS partition master but they both just show NTFS or FAT12

Tried that and it always says "invalid drive specification" when trying to format. Unless i was doing something wrong with the commands? but the drive letter was correct

Not sure what other useless information I could throw your way at this point. I don’t have one of these creatures to do my own tests on so I’m not sure what else we can do here. Maybe someone else has an idea?

Windows 10 can format it to fat12.
But the new payload won't work.
Struggling these days whit this problem.
Tryed Ubuntu and mkfs.vfat and same problem. Fat16 need a minimum disk size from 16mb.

If I found time I try to find something whit a hexeditor.

if fat16 requires a minimum size of 16mb then idk how anyone has done it. Also a tool someone recommended to me on github completely bricked my rcmloader. No longer lights up or gets recognized by my PC. So i've had to order a replacement and can't test anything until it arrives

Try the reset button, maybe you can bring it back to live.

Remove all existing partitions then create a new FAT16 one and format it with 512 byte clusters all using diskpart.

it was sdcardformatter. Someone on the Hekate github page said to use it.

Try the reset button, maybe you can bring it back to live.

I've tried the reset button but it doesn't seem to do anything. I can get the loader to enter firmware upgrade mode by holding the + while plugging it in but then since the PC doesn't detect it I can't get it to show up in the RCMloader update tool

Actually to add to my previous comment in firmware update mode my PC does detect it and I can use the update tool to download firmware 2.02 again. It gives me the green Pass. But then it stays in firmware update mode until I disconnect it from my PC. At which point it still appears to be bricked.

Did you try Linux to access the RCM loader maybe you have luck whit it.

I did not. I'm not sure how I would pass it through to a Linux VM without the PC detecting it properly?
