A phone that initially came with a version earlier than Android 5 shouldn't have factory reset protection (FRP) (unless Samsung implemented that earlier than Google made it mandatory).
It should be possible to factory reset from recovery at the cost of all data of course. Search for FRP before doing such a thing.

Flashing TWRP – voiding Knox warranty (soooo sad… warranty of a 2013 phone void) – should also be a possibility to access the phone. If the phone is not encrypted (possible at old versions, but not likely), you should even be able to access data from custom recovery.

I'm not familiar with any bypasses or details and certainly not an Android expert. Those phones are expensive toys and not serious computers for me and I never got warm with them (even though I tried my best)

Maybe somebody else knows more. Be careful, any destructive step as factory reset cannot be undone.

Good luck!

I would check XDA first, but with a phone that old, I wouldn't expect much support.
From just lurking at XDA Developers, I got the impression that they don't like questions of that kind. If indeed a form of FRP is implemented, they won't tolerate discussions about this ("FRP bypass= thief wanting to use/sell a stolen phone"… yeah, makes zero sense for that old phone).

Lock screen bypasses might exist for old versions. Worth trying if ADB debugging is enabled.

Not kidding, I suspected the same thing. EVERYONE who hears someone ask if they can unlock a phone is going to think the same thing. I get it that it's an older phone, but most modders are on the Light Side of the Force and are suspicious. Same thing here.

Factory reset, (c)fw reflash is an option...
But both will delete all your personal files.
And there might be more options :glare:, but as long as there's no prove of ownership none will do it.
