Valve sent the internet into a state of shock, when they revealed that a new Half-Life game was coming soon. Teased as a virtual reality game, more information was promised to be shown in a trailer. Now, that time has come, and we've got our first look at Half-Life: Alyx, which takes place between Half-Life 1 and 2. The game will be a full-length title, priced at $59.99, and will release in March of 2020, for the Valve Index, Vive, Windows MR, and Oculus headsets.

Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s VR return to the Half-Life series. It’s the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine, set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival.

What if the game was designed and for mouse and keyboard then adapted to VR, that's a possibility. I mean the worst case scenario they can use VR to Keyboard/mouse converter, in sure it exists lol

And yet the $1000 Valve Index full kit has been #1 on the Steam top sellers list for two days straight now. With the controllers and headset+controllers also in the top ten. It's less about selling their own hardware and more about supporting the VR market in general though, since they also link to other headsets you can buy. Lots of die-hard Half-Life fans out there.

Characters and graphics look great but the VR looks meh. Unfortunate that Valve can't figure out how to give you arms when a small team like Stress Level Zero can.

At this point the fanbase excepts nothing imo, what I wanted was simply ep3 but if they'd make it now it's be weird and hl3 would be weird without ep3 before it...

Very true, excellent point. No one to blame but themselves for that sentiment. What a shame.

After a while I personally thought they were just going to roll ep3 into hl3 but neither one of those things happened.
