My main problem with the game is the campaign (like why would they change the thing that made the series so fun?), and then the huge drop in cars from GT6 (1200 down to 400, and a lot of the 400 are concept or race-tuned variations of regular cars, not even famous race cars), BUT the latest patch made a huge difference.
Buried deep in the patch notes is this:
"11. Car Behaviour
– Adjusted the geometry calculations algorithm for the suspension. This has resulted in improved traction for rear-wheel drive cars and lessened reactions to weight transfer;"
The change is EXTREMELY prominent, my friend and I both noticed long before even checking the notes. It is absolutely game-changing. Cars that were unruly before (basically any American car, even the newer Corvettes) are now super fun to drive, and can actually corner and drift. Not sure why it took them 20+ years to figure out that people wanted to feather the throttle through corners in RWD cars...
I still have grievances (I can't use half of my cars for any events with decent payouts - and by decent I mean like 15-20K+ credits), but the beautiful way the physics feel now is almost worth it. You can actually recover the tail kicking out by countersteering instead of ending up backwards in an almost-scripted spin-out animation!
