Gaming Getting a 360 This Weekend :)

i want a 360 - anyone know any good deal at the minute in the uk? they're a bit of a rip off with all the add on bits though, 60quid for a wireless adaptor - no thanks

Just played MotorStorm at my local videogame store. It's awesome. However, I think it's the only good game available for PS3, unfortunately.
Reminds me of Road Rash (Monster Trucks and 50-ies bikes on the same race?! That's bloody cool!) due to it's 'Action' system and boy, those graphics are jaw-dropping. I am barely able to afford XBOX360 ... looks like PS3 still has to get some price drops.

Hehehe, not poking much fun at this as I know you didn't mean it to be taken in this fashion. I do love the 360 and all but it's build quality is not so good from what I've seen. Every single person I know with a 360 has had to send it in for repairs at LEAST once.

Yep. PS3 is way overpriced IMO. And I'm sick of seeing all the "special offers" down my local currys.

I just got mine, just set it up now actually, i payed $90 canadian for a 2year warranty and i think its worth every penny, 360 isn't the most reliable system but it has decent games

argos have sh!t deals, but have warranty at £34.99 for 3 years. not sure if you can get theirwarantee without purachsing the 360 from them

I just got my system last weekend. I splurged on the 3 year extended warranty for $116CDN . Good thing I did, about an hour and a half after i started playing my new retail copy of Gears of War, the dvd started to lag and skip. I also get DRE's occasionally. $700CDN well spent...

deal on amazon looks pretty good, think ill go see if gamestation will match it next wk. heard a lot about them breaking though was this just old models or all of them? can you get a cheaper version of the wireless module? will a usb dongle not work?

i'll admit. mine broke... bought it on launch day and had to send it in in feburary. it was 3 months out of warranty and they still fixed mine for free AND gave me another years warranty. so i'm totally pleased with my purchase, and yes, i too, play my 360 more than my wii.

Yaknow, you're right. It is a great price for a blu ray player. Unfortunately, we aren't discussing media player costs, we are discussing game consoles. I have had a great time laughing at the business decisions Sony has been making. With discontinuing the 20gb model, telling customers that the system can't support a rumble feature, and firing the head of the Playstation division all 6 months after launch. It's too early to admit defeat in the next-gen console war, but Sony sure is taking the 3 stooges approach to warfare.

Back on topic, I had planned upon buying a Wii the day they hit stores in the US back in November. That Friday I wisened up and spent my Wii savings fund on a Premium 360. I have never looked back. With Nintendo's dry spell and Sony's loss of exclusive content, the 360 is the current the no-brainer console of the generation.
