Gaming GBA SP No Sound...

Already tried new speaker in speaker slot. Did not work in the 101. Speaker works. Tried in my AGS 001.

Have headphone adapter and can get sound out of it.

On the six pin power connector I get a connection from the left (2) and right (4) audio pins to the same pad on the back of the pcb where the speaker touches. I also get a good ground from the AGND pin and the ground pad for the speaker. I did find that pin (5) audio ground did not go to the ground pad for the speaker. Should it?

Can I solder the speaker to the board somewhere? The 101 does not have the audio chip like the 001 has so need some guidance.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update on progress.

Soldered the following pins to the speaker. Followed a video showing how to do a headphone jack mod.

From right to left pins 1 and 3 ( right and left audio) to one terminal on the speaker and pin 4 (audio ground) and pin 5 to the ground pin on the speaker.

I get audio but it is very soft and the volume slider does nothing. I hooked up headphones to these same wires and I get audio on both sides and the volume slider works.

Any ideas on what to try to make the audio louder and the slider to work?
