Okay, installed the Wifi module and installed a 4.3 wad. Console boots, but I can't find an access point. Is it the location of my antenna? They're right next to each other in the inside of the console.
Did you install the normal Lu64+ IOS80 as I told you? The Mini IOS80 will always report no access points found.

Make sure you did the mod correctly. There are multiple resistors and capacitors needed but I guess you already know that. If there is any issue with your soldering the console will boot to a black screen.

Check WiFi card installation then. If it's not installed correctly and you have regular IOS80 installed it will result in black screen.

Here is the list of all needed parts:
Code:
RA20 S41X083101JPCT-ND
RA212,213 311-100LRCT-ND
CONN WM24007CT-ND
C136 490-6326-1-ND
C139 1276-1004-1-ND
C138 (can be left empty) 490-14372-1-ND

I was doing more extensive testing today and all I can say is that I highly recommend modding any Wii with HDMI. 100% true digital 480p looks beautiful. I actually see a noticeable upgrade in sharpness and color rendition compared to the official Component cable.

Got any before and after shots of the video? Because I don't believe for a second that the difference is noticeable and I base that on the fact that my OEM component cables give me what appears to be perfect output. I understand the difference technically, I simply do not buy that the difference is really apparent. Nor is this a simple mod.

Yea, i would love to see a comparison between the two or at least how the HDMI output looks. Still this is really impressive, though it's difficult to work on this mod even for those who are familiar with soldering..

Of course the mod is very difficult and given the time and effort needed to pull it off I'd say component mod is the way to go. I simply wanted to have the best possible Wii Mini and having HDMI mod done was essential to achieve that.

There is no night and day difference obviously but having digital signal through entire video chain is naturally better than doing analog to digital conversion somewhere down the line. I'd love to capture some footage for you but I don't have a high quality video recording equipment that would do the justice.

Hey. I was looking for something and saw my project linked here so I wanted to let anyone still following this and still interested in the component and Wifi mod know that you can join the Wii mini hacking community server where you can get more info on doing these mods yourself. We're also reworking the component mod and working on more hardware mods and a guide for doing all these yourself. I don't really frequent gbatemp much so any help is better given on our Discord. Hope to see you there!
