Failed to init or mount SD - My SD card "wiped itself". What should I do?

The card itself doesn't appear to be unreadable, but everything is gone. I was adding a bunch of Pokemon to my Violet game, updated my saves and everything appeared fine. I took the card out of the SD adapter and... everything was gone.

What is my best option as for getting this now wiped SD card running in my Switch again? I backed up most saves a week or so ago so won't lose too much. Should I reset my Switch and just re-install everything using the same card?

Thanks

You might have bigger problem if the problem is your SD card flex, does the computer see the SD card?

Yeah my PC is letting me format the SD. The issue definitely started with the SD card as my PC tells me I have to Format it

I reformatted and copied everything from my last backup but I still get "failed to init or mount SD" when I try to inject

If the computer see the card and the switch doesn't then it mean you broke your sd card flex, hekate throw the not initialize error when it does see a sd card, even though the computer see it.

As I say the card was wiped. Between adding a few Pokemon to my Violet save, inserting it in to Switch, everything just "vanished".

When I put it back in the PC I couldn't access anything, everything was gone and it told me so and I needed to reformat.

I can access the few screenshots I had which were stored on the SD card after reformatting, the Switch reads the card again. The card just.... lost everything which was on it originally

Did you test the card when you got it?

Test it? It was a new card and everything installed on it with no issues. I've been using it for a few months mostly with Pokemon games and PKHex.

The laptop I'm using right now is a pile of crap so is it possible something just went wrong when I saved my Main or backup Violet file to the SD?

I'm just wondering what my best/quickest option is to get my Switch to let me edit my saves again? I backed up my Violet stuff when this issue occurred and backed up everything else a week or so ago,

Should I just factory reset the Switch and re-install everything with a new SD card (the one this happened with was a 128gb card with the super Mario mushroom icon on it, I overpaid for this crappy Mario novelty lol). Prior to this it would transfer files at around 25mb/s. Just used crystaldiskmark and everything SD card wise appears ok?

Clearly I didn't buy the card from my local methhead

Any helpful responses?

Fixed this by just letting my Switch format the SD card for me.

Please delete my account, fuck this forum, since I joined like 5 years ago I don't think I've ever got a non toxic response or a solution for anything. The massive circle jerk that takes place at expense of newbs every time theres an IOS update sums this place up if you actually need advice
