EZ Flash Omega DE - Frequent game crashes

I've been having a lot of problems lately with my EZ Flash Omega DE with games just randomly locking up on me, sometimes with random nonsense graphics but most of the time just getting stuck, with horrific noises coming out of the speaker. I had thought it was because of cheats but even without cheats this happens. I even tried formatting my microSD card with a software tool and adding my games back on but it still happens. Any ideas what could be causing this? It's really annoying to lose all my progress when the game crashes and I haven't saved in the past few minutes.

I wouldn't know? I've never messed around with the save settings on my EZFlash, but this issue has me considering a different flash cart.

I'm not asking anything about the save settings.
When you load a ROM you can either launch it immediately (PSRAM) or write it to NOR first. NOR is mostly redundant since PSRAM is so fast.
If a ROM works fine from NOR but has errors from PSRAM, that's a clear sign the PSRAM is faulty and you should seek a replacement from your dealer.

Oh! I always launch ROMs directly, I never write to NOR.

It turns out I wasn't running the newest firmware for my Rev A (v05) and now I am, but my saves stopped working? I didn't remove any files from my SD card, I just copied the ezkernelnew.bin file to the root of my SD card and ran the update. Loaded up a game I knew I had a save for and my save wasn't there.

Edit: Nevermind, just had to copy the save files to a different folder.

I haven't had any crashes since doing the firmware update, so I guess it is?
