My Wii is a pretty old model (it didn't come with the Wii + Internet channel but not old enough for bootmii as boot2) and works just fine but the disc drive is broken. It makes a weird noise when I turn the console on and putting a disc in makes the screen turn black with an error message telling me to turn the console off. I load games off a USB but MKWii's CTGP requires a legit disc so I've been looking at getting it repaired and saw a ubreakifix in my area with 5 stars on google reviews, does anyone have experience with console repairs from this company? They seem to have locations nationwide. If you know any better services please let me know, I don't trust myself replacing the drive.

You can replace the disc drive yourself, no soldering required. Although Wiis are so cheap used it might not even be worth it.

uBreakiFix probably wouldn't have the parts laying around to repair the drive if they could even diagnose it and they certainly wouldn't have spare Wii drives laying around.

They advertise Wii disc drive repair on their website and have some reviews that are generally positive but I'm still apprehensive. There's a repair kit on ifixit I might get instead but the instructions really overwhelmed me since I'm not very experienced with this kinda thing. I'll give it some thought
