It’s a sit down scooter made by Sharper Image from 300 years ago. It’s electric and didn’t “come” with any batteries. I opened the controller and saw the caps are 50 volts, not enough of a ceiling for a 48 volt battery. Since a fully charged lithium ion 48 volt battery charges to 54.4 volts, I could only over volt it to 36 volts. I’ve got 3 12v 8ah batteries (found in a different location) in series to create a 36 volt battery. The 36 volt arrangement charges to 44.2 volts, well below the 50 volt limit of the caps.
Enough of the battery things, this scooter had no seat. I “acquired” one from another bike. IT FITS!!! I also “borrowed” the brake assembly from a little girls bike. That’s my throttle now, but my conscience is barking at me to “give” it back. The bike has coaster brakes, so I probably won’t give the brake cable back.
The motor is listed as a 24v 300 watt motor. With a 36 volt battery at 8 ah, I can produce 288 watts. This could be my new commuter. I just need a proper throttle!
