Capcom has confirmed today that the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X versions of the RE Engine-developed Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 will be available later this year. The company also announced that those who already purchased the game on PS4 or Xbox One will be eligible for a free upgrade at no additional cost through the PS4 to digital PS5 upgrade option or Xbox Smart Delivery system. There will also be a free upgrade patch made available for PC users.

The new-gen versions of all three titles will include features such as ray tracing, high frame rate and 3D audio. On the PS5, the titles will also support the DualSense support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers.

However, a release window for the availability of these games on new-gen systems haven't been made public yet.

nintendo doesnt want to make 500$ consoles and they are smart since they dont want to compete with sony or microsoft, they do their own nich so i doubt they will ever try to directly compete with sony or microsoft in the power/graphic department, the switch is on the path to be single most sold console ever for nintendo so why would they ditch everything and try to go competing with sony/microsoft? Their nich is working well for them.

Tho they'll be very little differences between them, but please wait as the news of us porting RE4............. again will come soon.

We will pretend it is a remake, but it will be the same old shitty port with nothing changed other than higher resolution, frames, HDR support and stupid rumble support for PS5 controllers.

And wtf is going on with gbatemp on mobile devices, the advert plugin is fucking everything up and while it was bad before that it displayed adverts over important features of the site, such as your text box and buttons.

Now the site keeps crashing and if it doesn't, the advert plugin is causing massive white boxes covering majority of the site.

And again its promised better support will be the same old, games we lacked first time round due to us intentionally releasing hardware so third parties cant support us with their new AAA titles.

You're thinking along the lines of a redeemable code or one-time use "thing," but discs aren't like that.

Microsoft did try that and it backfired, hence the success of PS4's launch.

And then what do we see, all the gamers rightfully kicking off by having its physical games been blocked if its 2nd hand, thus having 0 value if you decide to sell or trade.

They now all fund this digital only console crap, which is exactly the same thing, screwing the gamer over as they have fuck all to sell or trade in.
