WiiU online funcionality is still here but what will happen when Nintendo shutdown the service?

Switch online is free now however It will be a paid service on 2018

Last time I tried playing Mario Kart 8 online there was nobody else to get matched up with. Seems like majority of gamers have upgraded to Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Edition. When there's nobody else to play with the online service is effectively dead.

Yep i also play Mario Kart 8 online all the time and never have a problem finding match ups.

When the Wii U got released people wearn't expecting the original Nintendo Wii's Wifi Connection service to go down as soon as it did.
But that happened because of that service's financing. The PS2 and the Wii shared the same service so that was the end of PA2 onling gaming too excpet for sellect titles.
Hopefully with this different service the Wii U will last untill the next Smash Bros game at least.

hackers should be capturing decrypted packets of all games now before the servers are gone. specially monster hunter 3U since that one uses capcom servers.
