Misc 3DS in DS mode can see Wireless, but cannot connect

As it says in the title, the 3DS can see wireless connections, but it cannot connect to them.

It does this across multiple different carts, legitimate and flash cart alike.

All the errors start with 5 as far as I can recall.

It has no issue connecting to the internet in 3DS mode.

Any ideas as to a solution?

Are you sure you are trying to connect to a network featuring WEP password encryption? DS mode can only connect to those, not WPA... 3DS mode on the other hand, can handle those types of password encryption with no problem.

I've tried to connect to WEP and unsecured networks, and to make certain, a WPA connection as well.

The WPA connection it told me was not supported, as expected.

The WEP and unsecured test connected fine but always report a no access point error when trying to connect.

This happened to me after getting my 3DS back from a repair. The only solution was to reformat the entire system.

Hmm, that is problematic. I'll wait and see if anyone knows of another solution before trying that one.
