Review Approach:

I recently just ordered this game and thought to write a review for it!
I have been a huge animal crossing fan since Wild World, being such a huge fan I decide to go to the root of the series. BTW this game was a huge pain to get working on a US N64.
latest
I enjoyed this game a lot but like every other game there is problems. I will start with what I liked, I can not say enough how much I liked the controls, they just fit so good with the game. I also like the use of the expansion/controller paks, they expansion pak added higher graphics, they controller pak added the ability to visit others town. Some of the stuff I didn't like was how their was no museum or Able's Sisters shop. To donate to the museum you have to send it to a far away museum to get them checked but then you can only sell/display them in your house. In conclusion I would recommend if you can read Japanese, don not have much time to play/like waiting, or if you are a fan of the series.

Verdict

What I Liked ...
  • Nice Use Of Controls
  • Fast loading Time
  • Good Graphics For N64
What I Didn't Like ...
  • No Able's Sisters
  • Only Can Store One Song In Radio
  • No Museum

Gameplay
This game makes great use of the N64 controller and expansion pak. The expansion pak is used by enabling higher graphics when inserted.

Presentation
I have to give this kind of a low rating because I don't fully know Japanese. If I did know Japanese I am sure I would have loved how the game is lied out. But from what I could tell the text was really close to the Gamecube version so that is where my rating comes from.

Lasting Appeal
This game doesn't really last for me because it is to dull/slow compared to the others, but I have to give it some slack for being the very first installment.
7.9

Overall

This game is pretty much like the Gamecube game except with less features. But I really do like the use of the N64's capabilities.

Good short review! It would be nice if you could provide some screenshots and explain a few things more in depth.

Something to keep in mind for future reviews (using this one as an example): Explain more why you like the controls, and if it is possible show comparison screenshots on how the expansion pak makes the graphics better (either through screenshots taken online, or make your own).
What's in the museum that you don't like is missing? Does it have a function that you miss, or do you just miss a museum building? The same goes for Able's Sisters shop... what's that?
And donate to the museum (that doesn't exist?) and then sell / display in your hose... sell or display what?
Write like your readers don't know about this game (or other games in the franchise). :)

I'll look forward to reading more reviews in the future, perhaps another entry in the Animal Crossing franchise?

  1. Hardware

    Tribit StormBox Micro 2

Cramming a ton of features into a small package is a difficult feat on its own, but the Tribit StormBox Micro 2 manages all that and then some.

    Epomaker CoolKiller CK98 Keyboard

Did Epomaker learn its lessons from the last RGB-ified outing, with the new CoolKiller keyboard?

    Dredge

Indie title Dredge sails you out on a fishing adventure; but what looks like a cosy trip in the open seas can turn into a fight for survival after dark. Will you conquer the seas?
  4. Computer

    ShowGunners

Turn-based is definitely not my go-to, but ShowGunners definitely piqued my interest so I had to give it a whirl!

    Case of the Golden Idol

Case of the Golden Idol was one of the most acclaimed games of 2022. With its first DLC releasing today, does it still live up to the hype?
