Doesnt sound as sexy as the 1 dollar one to be honest. but this one at least is on par with 2019 standards:

started with a similar car wreck as the last $1 gba blogpost and this one was also a dollar. the ips v2 kit was 49 dollars from china:

now to figure out how to make the batterry last. cuz this thing is damn power hungry now. however it is very satisfying.

A fun mod, where did you get the housing?

As for the battery, I just rotate pairs of rechargeables. You’ll always have enough juice. :)

housing was included for the 49 dollars with the bracket and glass screen and the ips screen. a bargain for sure but it took nearly a month to arrive from china.

yes it does. the ribbon kit is not the best quality in the v2 though so you have to be fast and precise with soldering. it looks flimsy as hell. it matters little once its installed though.

i remember that kit. its the one i was originally wanted to get. i just happened to stumble upon the newly released ones before ordering.

3 wires.
just be uber careful cuz those points are flimsy as hell like i mentioned. i can tell that a second too long and you can fry that ribbon.
