New gaming PC built!

Congrats P1ngy but you did surprise me with your humble choices in making that PC. I know you can do better, I guess you deserve the best and I should tell you that you need to do better.

seems that a fuck-huge-fan (plus several on the back) with blue LED's isn't perfect...

cause I need moar moneyz.

Nice PC btw. Gonna upgrade to a Q9550 in the future, as I'm currently on a E8400. Quad Cores aren't still that supported, so I went for brute calculation power, with my easily reachable 3.6GhZ only with air cooling!

next goal: Get better speakers and monitor. Those puny speakers and that tiny monitor don't do your machine justice.

Damn you xcali! I mean I though my 22" monitor was big, and dont underestimate those speakers, they have a sub and are loud as hell! Anyway I do have a 5.1 setup in that room, as well as 5.1 wireless headphones I use. But anyway sorry if I caused an injustice!

Pardon my gloat, but my E8400 is at 4.0 GHz on air

I assume you went with a X48 board or P45 with DDR3 compat.
DDR3 is a bottleneck on core 2 builds, it just turns out to be wasted money since they wont perform any better then DDR2 on a skt.775
i7 cpu wont bottleneck the ram and AMD X4 phenom 2 also

for the price you paid for that 4870 vapor-x you could have upgraded to the 4890 instead for $5 more or less and got about 10% increase in performance

And kick-ass Videocard, that's 2GB DDR5 RAM!!!
I would have picked another Terabyte and another 4GB RAM though.

Yeah Joe my mobo is a P45, and my card was on an offer from the store I got it from so I got a really decent deal on it.

So far everything on the PC is great, and it runs any game I throw at it with ease. Im playing Empire total war at the moment completely maxed with no issues!
