My dad got t-boned/side-swiped at the gas station.

He was sitting still, this lady talking on the cell and driving with the sun in her eyes hit him. Dented in and scratched up the side, knocked the front end out of alignment (by like 270 degrees), luckily the front tire was leaking air slowly enough that he managed to get home and we could change the tire. It's nothing too bad as far as accidents go, thankfully, and nobody was hurt 'cause it was like a ~20MPH hit.

people fear airplanes, but the real danger are the cars, and it is not because the cars itself are dangerous, it is because of drivers like this lady

Talked to her insurance people and junk, after confirming the story, confirming nobody was hurt, and that we wanted the car fixed without a lawsuit, they said they'd eat the issue and get it fixed. It'll get towed later today, we don't know if they'll fix it themselves or cut me a check.

And to think I've only had the car for a few months, and it's already at the "it might cost more to fix than the car is still worth" point. XD

Man, see that's why i can't put so much into getting a really nice car and getting it all suped up.

Some idiot might run into me and ruin all that hard work.

Same thing about motorcycles.
