Hello world of GBAtemp!
Welcome back to saulfabreg Wii VC, and this awesome world of Wii!
In this blog post I will show you GREAT NEWS: finally now we can play our favorite Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games released as Virtual Console (VC) titles for Wii without that bad, ugly, and blurry dark filter (well, it's really that bad NES VC dark color palette) but with our favorite NES color palettes (such Nestopia's YUV, FCEUX's colors, Wavebeam palette, FireBrandX's Composite Direct, etc.)!
For do that, I got help from several members in this thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/possible-to-disable-the-wiis-de-flicker-filter.477163/ (where we also were talking about removing dark filter & de(flicker) filter in SNES/N64 Wii VC games and also some retail GCN/Wii games) for do these procedure. It is worth noting the help of the users @SunkenSkunk, @SuperrSonic, @NoobletCheese and @MaeseJesus when I was starting to see with my friend @Zorg1996 about removing the "dark filter" of the official Wii Virtual Console releases of NES, SNES and N64 games made by Nintendo.
Well, I was testing with several NES VC games with the method that later I made a tutorial for that, and using FireBrandX's Wavebeam color palette that I converted with @SunkenSkunk's Python 3 NES Color Palette (.pal) to Wii VC NES Color Palette Hex Strings Converter, then inserted into the 00000001.app (main.dol) of the games, I got these incredible and amazing results of color palette change in NES Virtual Console games on Wii:
(they were tested in NTSC-U games)
