Wish that was true, but I guess mine is console ban cause no matter what I do I cannot update official way.
Maybe I'm phrasing it wrong but... what I'm trying to say is, I can play my official legitimate physical copy Mario Kart 8, but since it has many updates after release, I cannot officially update that game because of my console banned. Lucky for me it is a V1 switch so i can install and update anygame with any game installer like goldleaf. But technically if i wanted to use my "legitimate physical mario kart 8 cartrige", I can only play what originally came in the cart, no updates no DLC.
I guess what i'm trying to say is... using a migswitch and risking a console ban is not worth it for me. Unlike a V1 switch... once an unmodded switch gets banned, i won't be able to play any updates of games. Wether officially using legitimate physical cartriges or installed on migswitch. That unmodded banned switch, will only be able to play base games that came in the cartriges.

Using Homebrew you can:
- Dump your legal cartdriges and leave them installed on your SD Card.
- Update the installed games
- Install DLCs and other addons.

I wouldn't bet on it because they are literally (by their own words) just ripping MIG's firmware to use as their own. Their main goal is ostensibly to provide a "cheaper" version (through hardware variation of components) of it, not develop it. They might not even have the technical skills to do so either.

They likely mean that (as they said) there is no software/firmware on there and you have to program them yourself via PC. A few old DS flashcards did it this way. They came without software and would do nothing if you plug them into your DS. After programming they work as intended.
I don't know if this would make any difference in court. Nintendo would probably bring the argument that cloning the game card form factor alone is circumventing copy protection or patents. They did that before.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.+1 -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
