Welp, I've fucked up and my switch is 99.9% flagged for a ban very soon.

How much does it cost extra to trade in this unit for an unbanned (and unpatched) one?
Nobody is ever going to buy banned Switches. And before you say, no, you cannot unban a banned Switch.

Yes. If you're going to sell it online, you're only going to get half of what they sell for.
I was careful with the unit for a long time to never bring it online... and a stupid fucking bug with tinfoil gets me to accidentally connect to Nintendo on emuMMC. Great fucking job.

No, just an unpatched Erista.

You should've used 90DNS or telemetry blockers on Atmosphere next time, but its too little too late now.:teach:

That's what I did all the time! But again, the bug with tinfoil got me to wipe my entire atmosphere directory and reinstall a blank one... and the rest is history.

Well, it doesn't really matter whether it's banned or not if you're going to play pirated games on it. I'd keep it as it's not worth selling at the half of the price. Plus, you don't have to worry about going online with it anymore, I guess? If you want to play online, get yourself another unbanned Switch, it doesn't have to be unpatched Erista this time around.

I have a Mariko switch that I use for online play, that's why I'm not crying and yelling right now, but it does suck to lose the convenience of having online play and hacks both on one console.

What do you mean a bug with tinfoil? Explain this.

You're mentioning like 4 different variables here.

You say you were using 90dns- Wiping your atmosphere folder means that your 90dns would still be applied. Secondly, a "tinfoil bug" wouldn't make you connect with N servers, thats all handled externally such as 90dns, incognito, amsDNS, or exosphere.ini. I'm not really sure where you're getting this from.

I never said I used 90dns, I used Exosphere along with DNS MITM as was recommended. Those do get wiped with your atmosphere directory.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
