If I had to guess, maybe the card is old enough to only support SD cards under 2GB or 4GB in size. I've had cases like this happen before, with my Wii not liking my 8GB Kingston SD Card (Before the SDHC update).
i had a Sandisk 2 gb in it but its the same issue 0-0

Whichever cart you have. Most clones nowadays support SD cards of up to 32GB.

Guys! Could it be that your R4 is maybe time bombed? If it's a Chinese clone then try to set your date back in time like 2010 or Something like that. I need to test it myself maybe it's working 🤷🏻‍♂️
