proberly words you cant use as name :P

For me no,
because the others languages have minor text and "other" meaning , so why take a list of bad language so "different" and different for each other?

example: american text have pus... the italian and spanish not, so this check is ridiculous :ninja:

This is nothing new, plenty of games have had word ban lists. Hackmii had a funny post about it where they looked at the word ban lists for some chinese made gaming console, and it had long lists of political terms, medical terms for anatomy, etc. (http://hackmii.com/2010/04/bad-words/ is the post in question)
It does seem a bit short though, but they had to draw the line somewhere - there are so many swear words you can't possibly ban every single one. Some games try (like the Hackmii post shows), but the cost of having someone work for hours just to come up with swear words to ban isn't really worth it. Especially as Zelda is single player, so there's actually no real point in having a word ban list at all.

doombringer: The ban list was probably rushed and different language versions were probably written by different people so they thought of different swear words. Also, words that are vulgar in one language might not be in another.

Hey, you may be the right person... sorry being off topic but, is it possible to extract cinematics from a Wii game?

I'd like to see them again...

Has anyone actually tested those words? It would be funny to see that they didn't bother enabling the ban list. Almost as funny as enabling it and not adding the more obvious words. It's actually not hard to come up with a ban list. There's got to be a text file that has them all floating around somewhere on the WWW. ;)

your topic calls these "porn words" but you highlighted "shat". id like to know what type of porn youre looking at.

I always thought the znd files were used for the predictive text used in the OSK. Maybe one of them is the list of words it autocompletes, and one of them is a list of "banned" words?

Ah, so it doesn't accidentally complete cuss words! But yeah, it still makes no sense that they didn't have a full list. Also, why not just store some kind of tree map. But I've never programmed autocomplete ala smart phones so what do I know?
