In case you are wondering, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma had an interview with Gameinformer and there he confirmed Zelda Breath of the Wild takes place sometime after Ocarina of Time. Some people speculate that it's depicting the fall of Hyrule ,which leads up to Wind Waker.

So, I'm not the most knowledgeable person on Zelda lore, but, if I'm not wrong, this means that Ganondorf comes back from the dead and conquers Hyrule or something?
If this game really has some sort of sidestory where you play as Ganondorf, I might consider getting the Switch after all...

I wonder how that whole, 'See the mountain from the first game...' fits over being after Ocarina/Mask? Could've sworn BOTW was a 'remake' of the original LoZ, but I've gotten worse-looking McDonald's burgers that were pictured better in the commercials. No gripes.

But robots are in Skyward Sword, which is the first game in the timeline - and in Skyward Sword they are already ancient robots. So robots predate Ganon, Zelda and Link.

Not surprised. Seeing the Temple of Time in ruins tells me it takes place after Ocarina, and seeing the destroyed town square (with the Triforce fountain) from Twilight Princess tells me it takes place after that too.

Of course, it could also be taking place in the Wind Waker timeline at a similar point in time as TP was after Ocarina (I believe TP is about 100 years after Ocarina?), so this one could take place 200 years after Ocarina but in the WW timeline, where the effects of the timeline split are starting to become apparent.

Given that the Master Sword was still in the temple, it can't be in the Adult Era, so it can't be before Wind Waker.
The Child Era already has Majora's Mask as an Ocarina sequel, so it must take place before Link to the Past.

Assuming by after he meant immediately after.
If it's just some arbitrary potentially thousands of years after (likely since the sword is heavily corroded), it could be anywhere. But, a remake of the first game would fit in here.

You realize that even though the layouts change from game to game, all the Hyrules are the same place?

No, I didn't realize that.
I was referring to something else about the chronological order, but mainly to this game 'supposedly' being a remake and how it now falls after Ocarina.
Did you mean something else?

Not a remake or a direct sequel--it just borrows a lot from the first Zelda.

I have to wonder what will happen to the time-line with multiple endings.
