Hacking Zelda OoT: copy GW save from slot1 to slot2

I already tried to copy the GW save from slot 1 to slot 2 within the game, it corrupted.
Actually any action to manipulate saves corrupts them..
the only thing that might work is hexediting the save and copy slot1 to the other empty slots manually, by copying blocks.
So that even if the game has never really been saved to, whichever slot it would default to could be loaded from..
Any expert at hexediting saves?

No that's the thing, it's not doable using the game's "copy" option..

Like I mentioned IT'S DOABLE on the digital version, I tried that, and had the gateway exploit in every slot, maybe the cartridge version doesn't allow that, which is a different story.

Umm...could that be why it stopped working?

When this exploit hit I remember reading a post that warned not to mess with the other two slots because the exploit used them although they displayed as empty.

Using the in-game copy data function?

Saving with in the game delete payload.So you need copy payload from gwsave and paste new save with hex editor.Payload offset is 1E000 to 20000.
And you can use only single slot.If you use double or triple slot and copy payload,save is corrupted.I already tried.
Also I already tried to move save slot 1 to save slot 2 with sdf.Default selected slot moved to slot 1(slot 1 is empty).

most probably, it wasn't really hard to make, should be able to convert it the same way the original save was converted to run on sky3ds........i dont have a sky3ds so i cant really do it though

PS for anyone wanting to make a US/JPN one you just need to edit the timestamp on the save and fix the checksum, then re-import with SDF and restore the payload to the end of the save
