Well for MM you don't NEED to change the Chip ID as it has no online. As for MH4 I would try another chipID...you can use the GW Rom patcher to view all the chipIDs(not unique) and see which ones work for you or leave it as default and see what happens.

Very true on the MM. I'll change the chip ID back later and see if it works. If not I'll change the header back as well to see if it works

wouldn't nintendo be able to detect that the chip id doesn't match the header? for example, using the header of SSB with a chip id of a different game.

Maybe buy game legitly? I have never had any issues with games refusing to run that way.

I have, particularly when the game wants you on a firmware you don't want to be on. Thank Gateway for Classic Mode.

As far as I can tell there are only a few ChipIDs anyway. From my research it seems like the chipID is used to determine how to save the game(card1 or card2) and who made the parts inside(sandisk, Macronix or OKI Semiconductor) again could they...yes they can but we have no idea how they are blocking users anyways.
