lol the idea is to translate the game into a language that isnt possible to read so you have a harder time playing the game =D

Hah. I gave a chuckle at this.

This is like translating episodes of Star Trek into Klingon. Even then, at least there's actually some form of language in Klingon (there's a dictionary out there, if you're wondering). Hylian is a fake language that no one has or will translate. So you're just replacing dialogue with a bunch of random pictures.

If anyone actually thinks this is a good idea you obviously need to take off the green hat, elf ears, and put down your plastic Master Sword.

    No offense, of course.

    >.> It was something for fun. I realize that no one is actually going to play it. It's pretty funny though as the TP Hylian is just a symbol change from english, so if you memorize the symbols you can read and play it [IMG]

Edit: Here is the translation guide

    >.> no actually TP Hylian has two written forms, GC and Wii. The one I use is GC (the real one). GC is the top one.
And yes I still need to do like Player Select and stuff. But why waste time if no one cares lol. If anyone really wants this, I'll continue [IMG]

Thanks for sharing although I am now going to have to try and categorise this.... not quite a spoof, not quite an improvement, not quite a translation......

Anyhow nice work Kafke, hope to see you around the hacking forums.

Actually, the Hylian typeset is just a modified version of the regular Japanese syllabary. This was revealed in the special Windwaker boxset put out by Famitsu a while back. Although it's not from an official source, this site illustrates what I mean (the characters are the same, if I recall, although it's hard to see the resemblance between the Hylian and the hiragana because the script was actually based on katakana):
