Hi all,

I try to play Zelda EoW.

I am 5 minutes in game. After beating Ganon, running down the ruines where the purple space chases you, i finally arrive outside. The cutscene begins, where Zelda looks out over Hyrule. Then she is escorted out of the screen by two guards. Then my screen goes black, I loading icon appears.. which stops spinning after 3 seconds.

Then, about 20 seconds later, the game crashes with error 2002-4153.

Googling around teaches me it's probably corrupted data. Downloaded and installed different sources (NSP, XCI, "SuperXCI"). And on top of that: I have two unpatched softmodded switches, same config (each with it's own SD card). Firmware 1.8.1.0, with atmosphere 1.7.1, both the latest, I just checked.

As I see no other posts which contain this error, I expect it's not related to Zelda Eow, but my configuration or software bundle? I don't use strange software. Tinfoil, DBI, Goldleaf sometimes. Tried installing with DBI and Tinfoil, no change.

The other couple a dozen games run absolutly fine!

Does anyone has an idea, or can send me in a right direction here please?

Some people do report this error with the Zelda after adding the update.
Without the update, the game runs fine.
So try to uninstall the update maybe.
Save games are stored somewhere else so deleting and installing only the base game is also an option.

It can also be data corruption somewhere and there are some reports that it is related to a malfunctioning Wifi module.
Just move the game from the SD card to the emummc (or the other way round) with the nintendo settings menu.
If the problems are gone then it might be some data corruption.

Thanks for your response. I probably forgot to mention I already tried it with, and without the update (also: the update downloaded from several resources, tried multiple).

Save games aren't important: i am 5 minutes into the game.
Moving between storage location is something i haven't tried yet. Will do that and report back.

Thanks!

If you have a unique problem that others don't have. You may have something unique on your machine. Try a different machine, find a friend, a neighbor, some way to isolate the problem and start to swap things around to see what makes the problem appear/disappear.

PS: If you have exFAT you may just be waiting for this problem.

As I stated in the original post: I have tried two already.

Do you guys have Zelda EoW running?

I think his problem is rare. So far have not seen anybody else complain. To think that no body is playing this game is kind of far out. To be the only one having problem hurts.

PS: Wait for official copy to arrive.

PPS: I don't like the game and my expectation wasn't sky high.

One other thing, some system setup are just bad and having two identically bad setup and get same result would be expected if that was the cause of problem.

Oke, moved the game (read: removed the installation) and reinstalled to the system memory: no luck. Update: no luck.

Any advise?

Yup, I'm on a V1 Switch, 17.0.1Fw, Atmos 1.7.1, and it plays fine. Installed with Awoo.(yea I still use Awoo)
Wasn't OS 1.8.1.0 a requirement? I know you can ignore this, but still..

What is your setup?

Okay: progress here!
I upgraded to the latest DBI (658), installed the XCI to the internal memory and my game doesn't crash!

Doing some tests to see what's the root cause here!

Have latest Atmosphere, Hekate and Sigpatches. Installed game and update using DBI in MTP mode. Installed on Erista modded console. No issues.

I used the mediafire download and installed it with Tinwoo, and have been playing the game just fine with the latest OFW installed, Atmosphere, sigpatches, etc. I should note that I installed the update as well.

I have the exact same crash at the same place after Zelda leaves the screen with the guards. Also tried reinstalling etc.
Really curious about a solution as well.

Everything was updated today before it loaded at all:
  • Atmosphere 1.7.1
  • Firmware 18.1.0
  • Sig patches
  • Sys patches
  • Injecting hekate

Tried installing with Tinfoil and DBI (both times to SD card from USB stick), always the same result with crash after the intro.

I am installing an nsp file, have not tried downloading another release.

Other titles seem to run fine, but haven't really played anything, just started a few.

If you are using a picofly shaped modchip, check the values on you resistors on the modchip.

Long time ago botw was doing the same for me in the first cut scene.
I didnt have slow emmc warning in hekate so i thought it was software error, i was wrong.
When i changed the resistors to 100/100/47 on the modchip the problem was gone.
