    Good day everyone,

I'm just curious how many of you play with the Shrine sensor on or off?

I disabled mine for the challenge but I'm considering turning it back on, that game is HUGE.

    Share away :)

i left it on. i dont want to miss any shrines nearby. Yep the game is huge and i tend to go off track from where i wana go. I always use the scope and pin shrine locations so i know which direction to go.

I leave mines on but it can be used for other things also.

I do normally see the shrines from afar and mark them andnwork my way torwards them.
I like to clim and get high up there then look around.

I'd keep it on. Either shrines are obvious, or hidden. You'll very rarely stumble upon hidden ones without the radar, and you'd find the obvious ones with or without it.

I turned it back on last night, although most are in plain sight ( at least so far) I noticed that sometimes you can easily miss one if you're not at the right angle or height to see it.

Also as you said, that beeping does get annoying, it beeps too often and the sound is very annoying as well.

I'm always running around aimlessly, I get so easily thrown off my course.

I feel like the dog in the movie UP...Everytime I see something...."PLAAAAYYYYY" and here I go again.

I have set it up for searching for Bokoblins. Nice to see where to go for more battles.

Off, not only is it annoying, but I never quite figured out the mechanics of what makes it beep. It's not just your proximity to the thing, is it facing the thing? Do you have to be moving for it to work? What is its deal?

It beeps when you move towards the target. If you're going the correct way, it beeps with more signal, otherwise, it gets less signal or no signal at all.

You need the sensor for more than just shrines later in the game. I use it for all kinds of things. You have to get it upgraded by the "100 year old" little girl.

Mine is on, but I wish it stopped beeping when I can clearly see it.

It's handy, but jesus is it annoying. You basically have to be staring it in the face to have it react. Rather than the tiny radar window, I'd much rather an arrow or something. Especially for those ones that are hidden behind the doors in the mountains, the ones behind cracked walls. Just really damn annoying.

The one behind a waterfall drove me nuts... But it was a kind of a fun shrine!

Off, unless I am searching for shrines which did not happen yet. The noise it makes is really annoying.
I uncovered 50% of the map and around 40 shrines without it, 4 of which are not yet accessible and others are hidden by shrine quests.

You do not really need it if you keep your eyes open when climbing higher places and the sensor, if enabled at all, is better set to other targets.

I'll give it that. THe one under the waterfall was obvious, but that didn't stop me from looking for it for ages above and all around it and shit. But it wasa fun shrine.

Same here! I was looking above all the time... and then I started to swim and drown.... when I found the right path I was like "dude, I'm to stupid to play this game."

  19. It's on but it's not super helpful, IMO, it vibrates the controller but that's about it, I think. The best way to find the shrines is with the binoculars and pinning them. Definitely doesn't feel like cheating or being very helpful.

Well, considering there are Zelda BotW guides out there I'd be willing that some are cheating their way and finding it all thanks to those books rather than enjoying the world of Zelda and finding it for themselves. It's no fun knowing where it is. :(
