Zelda 3 Heart Run: Is using fairies cheap?

What do you guys think? Are using fairies cheap in a 3 heart run on the Zelda Series games?


I've been going through some Zelda games with only 3 hearts, well I've only finished 3 so far...

Here's my progress:
1. TP - Finished with 3 hearts

2. OoT - Finished with 3 hearts

3. PH - Finished with 3 hearts

4. WW - Just got to puppet Ganon with 3 hearts, haven't fought him yet.

5. LA - Going through the game for the first time, then doing a 3 heart run after.

Going to try to do the rest of the games after I finish 4 and 5.

Not cheap. Even with fairies you are still left with a difficult challenge.

Do ALTTP with 3 hearts only and no red or blue mail.
Try it. I'm stuck on Ganon's Tower.

I can't even beat it normally, let alone like that.

Abuse the Hookshot invincibility time for projectiles, arrows, and those flameball props.

Of course, you have to get it first. Lol.

Also abuse the faerie in bottle after-death revival thing. Its there for a reason.

It isnt really cheap, since your utilising what the game is giving you so its still a technical 3 heart run. Are you increasing your hearts? no so its still a 3 heart run.

It's not cheap, but the 3D Zelda games are so easy, you shouldn't even need the fairies, lol.

Now the older 2D games...god. Would not wanna low-HP any of those.

I still need to 3heart minish cap. That one is hard. No hookshot for super long invincibility for no penalty.

I 3-hearted Wind Waker, OoT, and MM in a heartbeat.

Oracle of Seasons was a bitch!
And LoZ for the NES was OK...

Don't even want to think about three hearting (or baring?) Adventure of Link.

I haven't yet tried to 3-heart any Zelda games yet. I'm still having trouble beating The Minish Cap, so...
