I hope the Yu-Go-Oh company aint as trigger happy as a certain N company. Its more or less free advertisement for them with this mod after all :D

no emails yet lol, I do know that Big N has already taken down other Pokemon mods which is why i decided to go with Yugioh
I wish it was possible to do Magic the Gathering, but Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast are almost as bad as Nintendo.

Konami is kinda trigger happy, but Yu-Gi-Oh! is also a drowning franchise thanks to them, so anything will help. They've had a problem for years attracting new players, and a lot of that has to do with their approach to distribution.

Is the base game any good? I like card games although I only played very few of them
You mean Yu-Gi-Oh! or TCG Shop Sim? They're both really fun, but vastly different games. If you want to play the card game, check out YGO Omega. It's a fully F2P clone of Master Duel. Fair warning, it's a pretty complicated game, and you'll definitely want to watch some deck tutorials. There's a pretty big learning curve when compared to other card games. and it doesn't hold your hand in the slightest. Once you do learn how to play it, though, it's a super satisfying game. Konami designed it to the be the fighting game of card games, and you'll see what I mean once you get into it.

i'm gonna download yu gi oh nightmaer trobadour on the ds anyways
That's a good one, especially for learning the basics. The modern game has evolved a lot since that, though, and the later Zexal games, as well as Master Duel, will teach you that format. Master Duel has a really intuitive solo mode, too, that's nothing but mechanic tutorials.

NT uses the "goat" format, and the current format is much speedier when compared to it. It focuses a lot on two to three turn wins by allowing you to combo out insane cards. You can still combo in goat, but it's nowhere near as involved as modern is. A lot of older players prefer it for this reason, but I find both formats to be equally fun.

That's a format within itself. That actually is the speed duel format, and it's kind of a hobbled version of the game. A lot of people enjoy it, but it's missing a lot of fun stuff, and it's very easily pay-to-win. I'd suggest the more standard formats if you really want to see what the game is like, but it's up to your preference.
