I don't play Yu-Gi-Oh although I used to and kept my decks (one was built around Exodia which included a bunch of banned cards. Another one was my "official" deck which I kept up to date with all the rules even though I never participated in tournaments. Needless to say, I've stopped updating my decks, but they're still around).

And the answer to your second question is no.

For the most part the rules are the same.

Some sporadic card errata, but that's about it.

Those rules have been around forever. Also, I remember that your side deck can only be EXACTLY 15 cards. New sets of cards do not qualify as new rules, by the way.

None of those rules will have any significant effect on the game.

i used to play yu-gi-oh when the GX series wasn't around but then i stopped. I started playing WC2008 recently and couldn't believe how complete and utter crap i was at it. I guess i should start watching the GX series and maybe the new one now to get up to date on the cards

    1. Every season of GX after the first is complete shit.

    2. Yugioh as a game is fairly sub-par once you've tried a game where they actually take the meta into consideration when designing the cards (eg. MtG).
