When you played Ys VIII on each of these systems long enough to make a fair judgement, what was it in your personal experience that made you rate them in the order that you indicated above?
I have not played or seen gameplay of the Vita version but it's probably better than the mess that is the PC version...

PS4 looks and plays the best, Switch is portable and looks very good, Vita I don't know but it can't be as bad as PC and it is portable, then there's the PC version...

The last Ys game I played was "Ys III: Wanderers from Ys" on the SNES. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Now, for the Switch, I am playing and taking my time with Ys VIII. I am 18 hours in and still on Chapter 2.

It's a very fast paced action/adventure/rpg that I can easily pick up and play portions at a time. I feel it borrows from the tv show LOST as there are some similarities, but I don't mind that. The fact that they introduce you to new techniques and game play elements as you play even hours into the game is mere genius. Keeps things fresh! I am having a blast playing it! We need more games like this for Switch.

The last game I was interested in playing long-term (over 100 hours) was BOTW. Aside from that, there hasn't been anything I noticed, until now. I wonder what else is out there.
Id recommend u to try xenoblade 2 if u already didnt.

Ihave not played or seen gameplay of the Vita version but it's probably better than the mess that is the PC version...

The pc version would be the best version, but it crashes for some people.

Patch 1.0.3 for the switch version was released yesterday. I just downloaded it. So far, still a great experience!

Patch v1.01
Short Description: Fixes include adjustment to Nintendo Switch auto-sleep function, incorrect icons displaying, and text refinements.
Current Status: Live
Actual Live Date: June 26

Patch v1.02
Short Description: Addressing crash issues, some aesthetic issues, and text refinements.
Current Status: Live

Patch v1.03
Short Description: Text refinements, and AOC connectivity.
Current Status: Testing Round 2
Expected Live Date: July 2

Patch v1.04
Short Description: Japanese Voice Implementation, minor text refinement, and aesthetic refinements during cutscenes.

Expected Live Date: Mid July 2018


Anyway, I won't touch it until the Japanese voice DLC released for the switch.
We’re on 1.0.3 now. Not too much longer for the Japanese Voice DLC!

I only ever played Ys VIII, so I can't say, but I am loving it and having a very fun time. I also heard the overall battle system in Ys VIII is a better experience than in Xenoblades 2, but I have not had a chance to experience it for myself yet.

You should try Memories of Celceta. :)

Or even try Popful Mail on Sega CD. (I know is not Ys but is also a Falcom game that deserves attention and I wish Falcom gave it some, like a new game.)

Xenoblade 2 without a doubt. It's a high caliber game, with higher production values compared to YS VIII.

But I would end up playing both. I already finished Xeno2, and now I'm waiting for my copy of Ys8 to arrive.

The Y's series is the one reason to own a PS Vita (its being able to also play the PSP titles.) And I am glad that one can now play Y's VIII on the Switch.

I am just starting Chapter 4 of Ys VIII after 30 hours of gameplay! This game is so much FUN! After I am done with it, I will move on to either Octopath Traveler or Xeno 2. But I love the Style of Ys III. Very fast paced!
