The last Ys game I played was "Ys III: Wanderers from Ys" on the SNES. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Now, for the Switch, I am playing and taking my time with Ys VIII. I am 18 hours in and still on Chapter 2.

It's a very fast paced action/adventure/rpg that I can easily pick up and play portions at a time. I feel it borrows from the tv show LOST as there are some similarities, but I don't mind that. The fact that they introduce you to new techniques and game play elements as you play even hours into the game is mere genius. Keeps things fresh! I am having a blast playing it! We need more games like this for Switch.

The last game I was interested in playing long-term (over 100 hours) was BOTW. Aside from that, there hasn't been anything I noticed, until now. I wonder what else is out there.

I've played the demo on Vita and loved it, however if you want to play it now, get the PS4 instead.

I cant decide which platform I want to play this game on now... every platform has its advantages.

I haven't had any issues with game play on the Switch version yet and I am almost 20 hours in. Runs smooth as butter for me.
Ya playing on the switch screen performance issues arent really even that noticeable, its like they have some sort of gsync like feature.

Ys is just an amazing series in general!!!

I've never played a YS game before. They're all disconnected from one another right?

Nope, you can start with any entry in the series really.

I only ever played in docked mode so I have no comment for handheld mode.

I heard it's 60fps on the PS4 but it feels choppy. Is it 30fps on the Switch?
30 FPS on switch but it’s not choppy for me. I played docked as well.

  • x65943 @ x65943:
If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
  • JuanMena @ JuanMena:
    Just kiss me Kyle.
  • x65943 @ x65943:
You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
  • x65943 @ x65943:
"Just kiss me Kyle." And I thought all the godreborn gay stuff was a smear campaign

Seems like, your PSU was waiting for a partner.
  • JuanMena @ JuanMena:
    Keep them both
