Youtube DS - Play Youtube videos on your DS!

Hey guys, lately I've been working on playing Youtube videos on a DS. As you can see in the video below, I got it working. I think I'll try to improve it some more if I have some time and add a gui to make it actually possible to search for videos.

You can download a preview here, if you want to try it out: https://github.com/Gericom/YoutubeDS/raw/master/YoutubeDS.nds
It might take a few tries, because the video info parser does not work very good yet.

You don't need to use the YSMenu kernel just the included YSMenu.nds to run Aura Launcher
mine has the r4i-sdhc.com v1.4.5 kernel with r4imenu.
Ah, that worked. Thanks!

Welp, I got another question now.
Is it supposed to take a really long time to search or am I doing something wrong?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm confuzzled.

It's a bit hit and miss tbh
I searched for IGN sometimes it found videos to play other times it just stuck there doing nothing until I reset to try again.

Yea, YouTube is a bit weird. Some videos have encryped urls (VEVO for example), which is hard to support, since it changes all the time.

Probably not possible to use WPA in homebrew yet.
It's a limitation of the dswifi homebrew library more so than a limitation in homebrew programming as far as I know. The whole setup is kinda exotic and required reverse engineering of the WiFi chip way, way back. I don't know if anyone's even looked at that stuff since.

I think @Coto looked into that.

Youtubes search api only worked via https, which I couldn't get to work. So I hosted a https2http proxy on a server, which I don't have anymore. The php file is in the repo btw. Even if that would be fixed, I'm not sure if the way youtube video streams are obtained may have changed over years though. It was strange and not 100% official/compatible.
