Hello. :)

Yesterday I was really surprised about a piece of hardware that stops working again.
Without a warning,without a clue,without a sign.....and without my "assistance".:D

I was standing right in front of my Console and.....
Just thought: "Not again...."

Then I sat down, write a 1-2 posts here about it and put it all away
and I said to my wife: "Come, lets take a nice evening walk with our dogs." :)
(and it was really nice.)

What are you doing in such a situation today? :)

Parts that flew through the area/Words that not very "child-friendly"/Furnishings that got a kick or a blow/like him but not so friendly..... maxresdefiiiiault.jpg

Thank you for your frankness.:)

I was super young, and my memory card corrupted for my GameCube. It was like 3 in the morning, pitch dark in my room save for the TV, and that old, slow GC menu music playing in the background. For some reason, the combination of all those things made me burst into tears crying until my parents woke up to see what was wrong. It was so silly, in retrospect, but I was so spooked at the time.

Though I am not to blame entirely on this as I was just 6 year old kid at that time so relatively still young. I was home alone playing some games on my ps2 and left the room to go get something to drink.
A few mins later when I returned back I saw my dog happily chewing on my PS2 controller and I like a moron telling my dog to stop and threatening I'd kick him out.
Yea like my dog would get what i was saying lol. in a matter of 3 minutes my ps2 controller was shredded to pieces drenched in dog saliva.
it disgusts me to this day looking back and ever since I never keep my gadgets around my pets anymore.

When I was younger, I had some serious anger issues. I had a really short fuse and when I got angry, I threw shit around and yelled at people and tried fighting them. I'm so glad I grew out of that.

About 4-5 years ago one time I wanted to play PC games (from my laptop) on the TV. At the time we didn't have a flat-screen TV, just an old CRT, so I couldn't just take an HDMI cable and connect the lappy to the TV.
I found a VGA>SCART adaptor at Office Depot, which was perfect for the job. I took it home... aaand it didn't work. Instead of trying to see if I can fix it by fiddling with it a bit or remaining calm, in a fit of rage, I yote the adaptor at the wall and broke it, destroying any chance of being able to take it back to the store.

Another time, I was having trouble setting up osu! on Linux and in my frustration, I punched myself in the jaw. It has been crackling ever since.

When i first got my Switch CFW'd i couldn't get it to boot for some reason. Got mad at myself for trying to hack in the first place. Tried to turn on the Switch again and it booted normally ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I was a kid, my original Gameboy had a garbled Nintendo logo and wouldn't boot all of a sudden. I figured out that I had a broken pin somehow and took it upon myself to fix it. I straightened a staple and pushed it into the right spot to replace the partially missing pin and it worked a charm. I've been an electronics tinkerer eversince.

Oh… I can get quite angry when something fails – especially in cases of terrible design flaws. Let’s say… when this happens most children would get very excited and learn some interesting words.

One example: I wanted to close some (non-electric) roller shutters like normally… BANG!! The mounting ripped partially out of the wall. BANG!! again and the shutters were completely shut.
“Darkness there and nothing more.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;“

[From: E.A. Poe – The Raven]

I turned on the light and saw the mess: It was a plastic mounting; simply broken because it was old. And not easy to replace because it was embedded in concrete. :shit:

Result:
Hot melt gun + a lot of bad words + trying to get the hot glue in a place the gun could not reach + burning my hands + even more curse words.
But eventually I got it fixed.

I honesty don’t think I’ve ever had a bad reaction to something breaking, I just take it apart and fix it - if it’s possible.

I know the best thing that happened with something breaking, but not the worst.

A while back, the back of my original switch console tore into itty bitty pieces the system still worked fine but I felt like everyhing about it breaking was my fault and I couldn't stand it. I just broke down crying when it happened even when it can't be helped sometimes. My dad told me not to worry but I did anyways. So I ended up getting a new switch, and will get a new memory card on next payday.
