I just want Punch-Out to work right and background scaling to be addressed. More game compatibility would be nice too.

Anyone have a list of SNES games that used special chips?

I'd like to play Super Mario RPG. But I don't expect anything...

Well, I can emulate Super Mario All Stars just fine, so I'm happy already

If they fix the minor errors it'd be perfect!

Don't plan on Super Mario RPG, not even the PSP can do it fullspeed.
True, though with my speedhacks some users reported a slight speed increase.

In any case, it would be interesting to see a software renderer version of SNEmulDS, just to see how feasible software emulation would even be. Yes it would be slow, but it would provide more accurate emulation graphically.

What I want for the next SNEmulDS:

- Ram expansion support for added performance

- Scaling options

- Better sound

- Fix for the transparency and layer problems

- Better mouse emulation

Yes, it's a lot of expectations.

Yes, it's a lot of expectations.

Scaling options are planned for the next release. Sound I'd imagine is kinda hard to do, since he didn't really write most of the sound engine (Gladius did).

The transparency/layer issues are caused by the way SNEmulDS works by using the DS's 2D hardware to greatly speed up rendering. The problem is that the DS doesn't have enough layers to emulate all the SNES layers correctly. You'll probably have to get used to it, or tinker around with the GFX config menu to find some good-looking options.

i just want the rom to run at 100% speed, instead of 150% and sometimes 200
You could just read the documentation to find the option that lets you change that...

All I want for the next SNEmulDS release, is better sound and layering. Most of my favorite games are already compatible, it just has a few layering problems and crackling sound at points.

Frankly I am very impressed with where it is right now. I never even bothered with it, even though I had the ability , for quite a few months because of all the negative talk about it elsewhere, but I was surprised to find quite a few of my favorite games quite playable.

I dont expect Mario RPG or Kirby SS to run anytime soon, but I would like to see the compatibilty go steadily up...

Is there word on any update pending release in the near future?

I expect more love notes in the comments sections of the source code. The bastard hasn't written to me in months!

edit: I expect the typical homebrew fare: more bugs, more bug fixes, more optimizations, and possibly more features.
