    You guys forgot GRADIUS(also known as Nemesis).Contra,all SMB's, Ice Climber are also really good, thats all I can think of for now.

    EDIT- Duck Hunt is preety cool

    The list 4ppleseed links to covers every awesome game on the system

    Out of all those games the ones I had fondest memories of/played most as a kid were:

    Super Mario Bros 1-3
    Shadowgate
    TMNT 2 (Arcade)
    Megaman 3

    Also while it wasn't very good I remember playing Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja an awful lot too. That game was so cheesy!
