Besides it's need for things like a second analog nub, etc,
    it needs more good games.

In PARTICULAR, it needs some GOOD console-style RPGs.
There are some already out like Tales of Eternia, and some are on their way like Final Fantasy Agito XIII,
but the PSP still needs more RPGs like Final Fantasy X or Grandia III.
Doesn't have to be 3D; like I wouldn't mind Super Robot Taisen OG Saga being on the PSP, but unfortunately, only the DS gets it. xD

Of course, piracy has become such a huge problem which I assume is the reason why there aren't any. >.>

for me, what it really needs is a new NHL game [IMG]

I pretty much only use my PSP for homebrew stuff to be honest, but I'd buy a new NHL game

Piracy is a problem on the DS as well, so attributing the lack of console-style RPGs on the PSP to piracy alone is silly. In fact, some might say that the DS has a worse piracy problem than the PSP, because of the ease of setup.

Besides, the PSP already has plenty of console-style RPGs:

    FFVII: Crisis Core
    Brave Story: New Traveller
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology
    Phantasy Star Universe
    Star Ocean: First Departure
    Star Ocean: Second Evolution
    Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition
    Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition
    Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
    Crimson Gem Saga
    Popolocrois
    Monster Hunter Series
    Jeanne D'Arc
    Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
    Gurumin : A Monstrous Adventure

The DS is a safer bet if you're making a handheld game, because the ratio of DS to PSP units sold is approxametely 2:1 worldwide.

I'm aware of those omatic, but I've played many and I agree with Gamerankings.com in saying that most of them SUCK. Brave Story (imo) fails as a console RPG, Tales just doesn't feel like one, the Star Oceans are both okay but have a much higher potential, the Final Fantasy remakes are VERY average and not that good, and a couple others fail as well.

I do however admit that FFVIICC, Disgaea, Jeanne D'Arc and Valkyrie Profile are good. I expect Crimson Gem Saga to be good as well.

But yeah, I'm looking for games that actually peak in performance.

Like, if they made a game with the same TYPE of gameplay as Tales of Innocence or Final Fantasy VII-X for the PSP, those would probably be the type of console RPGs everyone would like the most, assuming that they're made well.

The PSP has so much potential and very few games have utilized it like God of War, Dynasty Warriors SF, various racing games, some sports games, etc. I'm glad more will be coming out like Jak and Daxter, LBP, FFAXIII, and so on. But still, I'd like games like FFIX. D:

Yeah omatic he said GOOD RPGs. About half the ones you listed were remakes anyway.

Also, if they are going to add a second analog nub on the PSP2, it will NEED to be usable WITH the regular buttons o/square/triangle/x(by hopefully being in the middle of them.) I say this because the people who really want a second analog nub mostly want better FPS controls but imho if the 2nd nub isn't positioned a lot better it can make things equally frustrating only having 2 buttons you can press without having to move a thumb on the nub(L and R) since the PSP doesn't have L2/R2/L3/R3

Do any of you think that the PSP would be able to handle a game with the exact same gameplay as Star Ocean 3? The 2 remakes for the PSP are still just plain 2D.
I would want a game like Star Ocean 3 for the PSP. D:

I'm looking forward to quite a few games like FFAXIII, KH:BBS, Jak and Daxter: Lost Frontier, Dissidia FF (USA). But BEST of ALL (or on par with FFAXIII and KH), Tales of VS. I really hope this game gets localized which I doubt, but I just wish. (:

But, aurgh, need better quality console RPGs!!

They need more puzzle games like Echochrome.
Sony's Japanese game division is one of the finest puzzle developers in the world.

Class of Heroes, dungeon crawling style RPG. Dunno when it's due out, though.

Oh God, if anything it needs LESS RPGs. RPGs shadow out other games that deserve to be in the spotlight. Varied releases are needed right now. Not effeminate orphan boys telling us their sob stories.

AS I SAID BEFORE, the PSP needs *GOOD* console style RPGs. Half the RPGs coming out right now are all shit (no offence to those who like them).

    PSP needs more innovative games.

    Games that make people go
    "wow thats cool"

though to be honest, I already like the PSP and use it more than my DS

The PSP just needs games in general.

I've been playing some DJ Max and Guilty Gear AC+ but really, it's library is very small in comparaon with the DS's.

I agree with what you guys are saying, but the thing is that we have so many unknown-"crappy" games coming out. Like I've never even heard of some of these games before. We need more well-known titles like Jak (which is coming out) or Ratchet; titles that people have heard of and played before.

Yeah, You're right, Crisis Core sucks, just a bunch of moves that you need to CHOOSE to use before every move!
