Last Chance to See is a documentary series by BBC, hosted by Stephen Fry, and based on the book by the same name by Douglas Adams, in turn based on the BBC Radio series by the same name. The radio series followed Douglas Adams and zoologist Mark Carwardine on their way around the world in search of endangered species. The journeys were narrated by Adams in his characteristic humorous manner.

The new series visits the same locations and shows us the development and results of various attempts at preservation of those species. Some have since recovered, some are still teetering at the bring of extinction, and some have, unfortunately, since gone extinct. This series is narrated by Stephen Fry in his characteristic, humorous manner.

And Mark Carwardine is pretty funny as well.

So if you've missed the book (and you've probably missed the radio series), give the new documentary a try. You won't regret it.

(Also, support the International Rhino Foundation and the Jane Goodall Institute. You won't regret it much either.)
