Presents: XeXMenu v1.0

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Release Notes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You might be wondering why it's XeDEV who are releasing this.. Since some people
left us we don't want to retain the "freexex" name anymore. We also changed the
name to XeXMenu (this is because XeXLoader is now much more of a menu than
just a loader). So enjoy the new stuff...

XeXMenu V1.0
=============

* Gametitle extraction from NXEART if possible (toggle)
- Games with more than just one XEX will show up multiple times
* Embedded FTP Server to transfer your stuff directly from your computer
- Use xbox:xbox@ip:21
* Use FTP to read/write/delete your onboard flash
- Only user flash/flash is able to do that!
* Support for all found XEX files. Not just default.xex (toggle)
* Shows the content of any GAMES folder on any device
- Use GAMES, APPLICATIONS, EMULATORS for auto discovery menu on each device
* Switch between games/apps/emus in the discovery menu using RB/LB
* Auto scale skins for most resolutions (toggle)
* Different help screens for each menu
* Use DPad to switch between devices while browsing files
* Xbox1 compatibility partition support (if exists)
- Xbox1 partition known as "HddX"
* Alphanumeric listing for files
* No more XEX auto patching when copying DVDs
* Manual XEX patching for freeBOOT users
* Configuration menu
* Real XBox save system for the configuration
- Gamesave known as "Unkown Xbox Game"
* Chose between different skins from the configuration menu
* Support for own skins
* many more things we can't remember

Press "BACK" for detailed help pages!

Note: If you only get a black screen on startup try to delete the XeXMenu
savegame known as "Unknown Xbox Game" using system tab in dash

There are some issues with the FTP upload speed for some people at the
moment. We're still working on that.
This will be fixed in further releases!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install Notes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LIVE) Copy the C0DE9999 folder to
HDD1:/Partition3/Content/0000000000000000/

... or use the XEX version

FTP) To prevent the Xbox from connecting to Xbox Live you can set up your
network as follows

- Use an IP adress outside your routers DHCP IP pool
If your router use 192.168.1.100-200 for DHCP you could use 192.168.1.210
- Set up your computers IP as gateway.

The XBox should be able to connect to your computer now but won't get
access to the internet.

If you have a second NIC just make a direct connection to be sure

Use xbox:xbox@ip:21 to connect

So i guess i'll be the first to ask a noobie question then....

"LIVE) Copy the C0DE9999 folder to
HDD1:/Partition3/Content/0000000000000000/

... or use the XEX version"

Where is the code9999 folder? In the xexmenu LIVE .RAR i have not a folder but a file called "C0DE99990F586558"

I tried putting both the live & the xex versions on a usb stick. It ran when i used Xexloader to select the default.xex from the xexmenu xex version but i dont know how to install it?
im trying to install to an offical 120 gig hdd.

Yes I noticed that. This is the package I got off xbins, so I think they just forgot to put it in the folder format. What I did was use xexloader to load up the default.xex the went to the HDD and found the "C0DE9999" folder, in that is another folder "00080000" in that is the "C0DE99990F586558" file. Delete that and replace with the one that came in the XeXMenu LIVE.rar file. You have to delete the original because you cannot overwrite it. XeXMenu will then show up in your games on the dashboard.

Yeah man, thas exactly what i did & it worked! Thanks though.

Am i right in thinking that xexmenu will recognise games if they're in HDD:\Games\ only? I got bayonetta in a floder called bayonetta on the root of my HDD & it dosnt see it.

Also, can it launch XBLA games?

I believe they have to be in that folder structure (USB:\Games\). Also if you use wxpirs to extract the XBLA file you will get the .xex file and all that and can play from USB

I don't have it in the /GAMES/ folder. I just have them in the original folder structure I had them in, whioch is my genre... basically somehting like USB:/Shooter/(game) USB:/RPG/(game) and so on, it picks them up just fine. I have lots of questions though in regards of XeXMenu, can someone answer these? I have no idea what the following means from the .nfo or other reasons (on the side if for other reasons)

* Gametitle extraction from NXEART if possible (toggle)
- Games with more than just one XEX will show up multiple times
* Embedded FTP Server to transfer your stuff directly from your computer (how do I access this FTP and how do I set it up with my PC)
- Use xbox:xbox@ip:21
* Use FTP to read/write/delete your onboard flash
- Only user flash/flash is able to do that!
* Support for all found XEX files. Not just default.xex (toggle)What's the point of supporting non default.xex?
* Shows the content of any GAMES folder on any device
- Use GAMES, APPLICATIONS, EMULATORS for auto discovery menu on each device
* Xbox1 compatibility partition support (if exists)Does this mean I can run Xbox 1 ISOs?
- Xbox1 partition known as "HddX"
* Real XBox save system for the configuration
- Gamesave known as "Unkown Xbox Game"
* many more things we can't remember Such as?

Also, I heard with XeXMenu, you can make games display on your NXE like a Games on Demand but I have no idea how to do it nor where to download the plugin or w/e for it called NXEgod or something? people said go to xbins but I can't access that site for whatever reason

I;ve just discovered a problem with xexmenu.

I have a 120gig HDD & a 2gig USB stick in my console.

I installed xexloader as described above ot the HDD & i;ve just discovered that if i remove the USB stick & try & run xexloader it wont run. gives me a black screen. I;ve tried deleting that "unkown xbox game" save & it still does it.

Anyone know why?

Edit: i;ve tried moving the items from the "xex installer" (not the live one) into the root of my HDD.

Still dosnt work. i've copied it exactly as it was from the root of my USB drive.
