Xenoblade X is a great game, except it has a few questionable music tracks. Making some edits to the music files made the experience so much better that I want to share how to do it for other people who felt unmotivated to play the game because of this.
Note: Soft Swap will work with any version of the game, but for the hard swap you need to use the digital version (or loadiine).
Soft Swap will require loading SD Caffine before loading the game every time you play, but Hard Swap does not.

Guide:
Requirements:
-Softmodded Wii U
-Xenoblade Chronicles X
-SD card

1.) Soft Swap using SD Caffine (I recommend doing this before trying a hard swap)
-Copy the SDcafiine folder to your /wiiu/apps/ folder on the SD card
-Find your game title here: https://wiiubrew.org/w/index.php?title=Title_database#00050000:_eShop_and_disc_titles
(Make sure it's the game title (not DLC or update) and it's the correct region)
-Make the following path on your SD card root:
SD:/sdcafiine/[your-game-title-with-no-dash]/[anything]/content/stream/bgm/
-Use PESSFC to convert MP3 or WAV files to ADX
-Lookup the song you want to replace in the xcx songs.txt file
-Rename your new ADX file to the song name (eg: x07_00.adx) and put it in the bgm folder you just made
-Put the SD card in the Wii U, run SDCafiine from the Homebrew Launcher, then run your game
-SDCafiine must be run before launching the game, or else it will be the normal music, so play around with songs until you have it just right, then try the hard swap

2.) Hard Swap (for when you are ready to make a more permanent swap)
-Use FTPIIU Everywhere
OR (old guide):
-If you only have the disk version, you will have to use disc2app to get the content (to be installed as an app on your wii u, make sure you have enough space)
-If you use loadiine and your game is already in loadiine (decrypted) format, congratulations you have the easiest steps, just replace the music files in /vol/content/stream/bgm and you're done.
-If you want to install it as a digital game, you can use your choice of tool to decrypt your install files (WiiUSB Helper, Cdecrypt, JNUSTOOL (included))
-Once decrypted, swap out the files in /vol/content/stream/bgm
-Re-encrypt using NUS packer
-(Guides for these tools can be found online)
-Once re-encrypted, use WUP Installer to install your game

My preference:
I swapped all Black Tar files with the instrumental versions, and swapped the skell flight music with the title screen music.
Maybe someone will consider collaborating with me someday to make an instrumental version or a cover of the NLA Night music to further improve the experience.

There's a far easier way to do method number 2

Just use "FTPIIU Everywhere", search for the game's folder on your PC using a program like FileZilla (you will be looking at your Wii U's storage via FTP) then just replace whatever song you want to

Here is a list of a few of the song's internal names

x11_00 - Title Screen
x12_00 - Mission Briefing
x45_00 - "Black Tar"
x48_00 - Skell Fight
x53_00 - "Uncontrollable"
x60_00 - "On The Forest'
x61_00 - Black Tar [Duplicate?]
x63_00 - NLA Day
x64_00 - NLA Night
x65_00 - Primordia Day
x66_00 - Primordia Night
x67_00 - Noctilum Day
x68_00 - Noctilum Night
x69_00 - Oblivia Day
x70_00 - Oblivia Night
x71_00 - Sylvalum Day
x72_00 - Sylvalum Night
x73_00 - Cauldros Day
x74_00 - Cauldros Night
x78_00 - The Barracks
x79_00 - Don't Worry (plays when flying a skell)
x80_00 - Manon Airship Day
x81_00 - Manon Airship Night
x82_00 - Cave

(I am missing Wir Fligen and Melancholia)

Nice! Is it a temporary swap or permanent?

Wait I don't understand. The FTPIIU page says it only allows you access to the SD card? How does this let you swap files on your installed game?

Use the mod version: Ftpiiu everywhere
Just be careful to not modify the system files, you can brick your console!

The croissant crust is still available though, but not quite as good imo.
