This Xbox that I got from my friend has been giving me loads of problems.
1) RROD, I fixed this with the penny trick already
2) my 360 won't turn on unless the dvd drive is removed
unsure.gif
and when I do remove it goes to 3 rings.
3) last, the screen won't display
Can anyone help me with these problems?

Penny trick hope one didn't get loose and short something.... any way what is the secondary error code you know where you turn it on and when it 3 rings
hold the sync button then slowly tap the eject switch 4 times to get 4 different numbers like 0102,0020.0110 or 0022 and if it's 0022 that's a pain in the ass
to fix....

Well I fixed the screen problem but my 360 still won't work unless the dvd drive is removed, so do I do what you told me to do?

The sync trick might be able to tell you the actual issue, the pennies may be touching something it shouldn't. The DVD wires might be pulled apart or damaged (from taking stuff in and out of the xbox). Check to see no lines on the board are messed up or scratched, etc.

Why haven't you tried what he told you to do in the first place? lol.

I don't understand people sometimes.

Hey guys, I don't know if this helps but I think I figured out whats wrong with my dvd drive turning off my Xbox. You know the little white cord next to the eSata, when ever I plug that into my Xbox it turns off, so could it be faulty?
