Xbox Live technical support will be extra busy over the course of this week and the next as a new software update rolls out, bringing sweeping bans to those with modified consoles. But one fresh account banning from this week is more educational than the rest.
An Xbox Live member with the gamertag "pound her stank" found himself permanently suspended from the service after what he argued was three years of good standing membership. His plea:[/p]
That's right. After an impressive 34 gamertag changes, none of which appear to abide Xbox Live's Code of Conduct, you can be banned. Now you know![/p]

[IMG] Ok, yeah 34 times is a lot of times to not get it right but a permanent ban seems a little bit much for something they should have handled the first 33 times he made names that were not appropriate.

That's a well deserved punishment. Hell, if 34 times wasn't enough, would 1 more be any better?

It's not that he "didn't get it right", it's that he was purposely doing stuff he knew he shouldn't have been. They should have permabanned him after the first 3-4 times.

When i said "didnt get it right" i didnt mean he was trying to 'get it right' at all. I think in this situation he shouldnt have been allowed to even make more than one inappropriate name. If his name was inappropriate the first time, they shouldnt have allowed him to make it, let alone 33 more times after the first one.

Some places will just reset the username to a random string of numbers or something if a user repeatedly fails.

Whenever i try to make an inappropriate username just about anywhere, they don't even let me create the first inappropriate name, even if it wasn't inappropriate and it just happens to contain a string of characters like 'tit' in it. I would think that something like this should have happened in the first place.

Ok, so this guy creates a offensive gamertag and gets 34 chances to change it and still doesnt.

Now when he´s perm-banned he can change it..

I say screw him and his lame gamertag, he got what he deserved!

IIRC, there are banned words and phrases. Just like other sites or programs or whatever... There's always a way around things with more phrases and characters to use. "pound her spank" is somewhat unique and the words used aren't really worthy of a ban. "tit", on the other hand, is on a totally different level.

So my point with this is that it is easily overlooked unless you have people scanning entire lists of Gamer Tags.

shouldn't their terms of service be renamed to microsoft's code of ethics, because we all know that microsoft's ethics are of extremely high caliber!

Considering it's $10 per name change, she spent $330 on Microsoft's behalf.

Good job, it's not Microsoft's Ethics. He must of received a fair few reports on his gamertag (over the 34 forced name changes) from the xbox live community. He had 34 chances to not be a total douchebag on a network that has young children on it. He failed to comply so he got perma-banned.

Personally I say good job Microsoft, I hope more of the morons like this get perma-banned as well.

SO I guess Microsoft has their own unrelated type of "Rule 34"? [IMG]

Did anyone get that he got banned right on 34?

And his gamer tag has stuff to do with Rule 34?

The name was "Pound Her Stank" (Stank being a reference to a woman's naughty bits.)

Really? Never heard that before, thought it was the past tense of stink.

I guess even if he didn't mean vagina it could also be seen as promoting beating smelly women until they stop stinking.

    Here is a cool thing;

If you see something repeatedly occuring, and it has occurred a large (large is subjective) number of times, the probability of it happening again approximates to n/(n+1). Considering he has changed his name 34 times because it violated the terms, the probability that the 35th time will violate the conditions will approximates to 35/36 or 97% [IMG]

Of course, this approximation is very limited to it's applications. For example, human life cycles would not be a good one because after a point, our probability of death increases per day.
