"At the Chaos Communications Congres, Michael Steil (one of the Xbox Linux team) made a speech about console hacking. Felix Domke spoke about exploits for the Nintendo Wii and commented that a number of them work on the Wii too. The most successful hack for the Wii is said to be one similar to the DVD firmware hack on 360."

Its in german, so try to translate it with Google.

Vaporware. Most are able to talk the talk, but I'm suspicious as to whether they're also able to walk the walk.

Interesting article. How much this is worth in the end has to be shown. So far I have anyways no interest in any of those consoles [IMG]

If you remember, tmbinc was also the guy who first released information on GameCube backups. He then said he didn't want to "support piracy" and stopped releasing info. So unless there is some homebrew benefit to any Wii hack, which he already said there is NOT, it is unlikely he will release anything.

And you sir, can do neither. Don't put down news because you think it's not likely to be real.

And you, sir, are assuming things you know nothing about. I agree, it was a stupid post that added nothing to this discussion, yet I see no contribution in yours either.

Not likely. The PSP is more accessible since you can connect straight to
your PC by USB. Up- / downgreading a Wii seems a bit more difficult
    imo.

But let's wait and see. [IMG]

i think the usb connection of psp is useless, it can only be used as a memory stick reader, you can t access to any systems files.
all the exploit founded on the psp, involve only a memory stick with some "hack" files or firmware. i have downgraded several psp without even having the usb cable to connect it to my computer

    Do you hear that?

That's the sound of the pot calling the kettle black.
