OP

If you're looking for video proof of the latest and greatest Xbox 360 firmware mod, you won't find it in the video after the break, but we're almost willing to take it on Team Xecuter's word and long-standing reputation that they've hacked the new Xbox 360. Banding together with Team Jungle and commodore4eva -- the hacker who brought backups to the original console in 2006 -- the group says they've successfully patched the DVD drive to play burned discs. Better still, they're promising that a public release of said patch "will be available shortly" to help you unlock a Stealthbox by your lonesome. Just remember, kids, circumventing DRM isn't always legal, even if you're copying games that you bought right off the shelf.

An interesting development, wonder how in depth it will end up compared to the other 360 DVD drives to pull off.

It sucks that you can't play on live with burned games.

LMAO, yes you can.

These new LT firmwares are also supposedly "undetectable" so they shouldn't be hit for the Halo/CoD banwave this year.
Supposedly.
It's not like Daz Loader or a hardware modification where they can't disable it, it's just (apparently) not currently possible for MS to know if your device has been modified in a way that breaks their terms of usage. It's only a matter of time until a new update changes that. People said before that Nintendo would never mess with modded Wii's but 4.2 came around and.....well, yeah.

@DunkrWunkah at present only the hitachi drives do not have a version of LT- liteon, benq and recently samsung have got versions of LT.
The only 360 hacks that make online play unviable are the JTAG/homebrew hacks but they can now use system link ( http://gbatemp.net/t237738-new-workaround-...link-ping-limit ) over the internet - MS previously disallowed high ping times.

Isn't there a way to like patch it with something to make this ping time capacity much higher (as in it shouldn't necessarily be below 30ms or whatever it was)
