Hopefully it will still be the 16th by the time I press post. No posts in the last few days as not a great deal has happened assuming you are not a fan of Lips and p2p releases can pass you by. A couple of nukes and wave4 being official, we have a thread in this forum section ( <a href="http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=185528" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=185528</a> ) and in a post over at <a href="http://abgx360.net/" target="_blank">http://abgx360.net/</a> Kushan summarises it rather nicely (it is on the link I just gave/frontpage of the site).
Good news is Borderlands is wave 3 (and region free), p2p only release for now but that will not change when the scene release appears. GBAtemp thread on the subject: <a href="http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=185911" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=185911</a>

edit: ooh yeah 1 minute to go by my clock.

edit 2:Update: Way of the Samurai 3 just got nuked for the same reason as the other PROTOCOL release of the evening.

edit 3: apparently MS are cracking down on users of the prereleases of Forza 3 in the form of live suspensions. Gaisuto has more in his thread: <a href="http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=186000&hl=" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=186000&hl=</a>

These threads have been going on for a while (even longer if you count that they happened in previous years as well) but the general idea is in each post the days (or time since last post if nothing much happens on a given day) summarises the state of the 360 scene, it is done in the subforum as GBAtemp is mainly geared to towards the GBA and current Nintendo consoles but there are a substantial amount of 'tempers familiar with other consoles as well who discuss such things on the 'temp.
We cover big releases (a short writeup, release name, region locking information and NFO), the smaller releases (those without English in are usually covered here although we will cover a big Japanese release on the rare occasions one happens), any nuke information and likewise any confirmed games added to the 360 game verification tool ABGX360 as well as any homebrew news.
We tend to avoid covering the P2P game releases as they are not especially reliable when they beat the scene to releasing (previous years have seen several big releases made ahead of street dates which were later found to not be up to scratch) and afterwards there is not much point, this being said if any are of note they will be mentioned in passing.
If you have any suggestions for the format of the post or things we should add please chime in, if you want to help out in the coming months when things get really busy (we are sure you have all seen at least one summer games drought followed by a packed autumn/winter release schedule which is usually made even worse by being able to move in these circles) we are recruiting people to help post these up.
Recruitment thread:

First the current WIP GBAtemp 360 FAQ, it should cover most questions you might have on the 360:

As many of you know modding your xbox can lead to a ban from xbox live (more or less the only recourse Microsoft have), we do not know the exact methods used to detect modding but it is a fair guess that it is related to the games not appearing as originals for various reasons.
While playing games prior to street dates has been considered there are many that have played before release without issues so street dates for the games will be mentioned if truly necessary but do not count on it. On the other hand prerelease games can sometimes be bad dumps, dumps from non retail sources, bad packing of dumps like any other dump but without a retail copy it is markedly difficult to verify a release beyond the basics. The tool AGBX360 is used to verify isos, directories and games burned to disc and can fix isos and directories if necessary but requires this data (a basic check using the data the game holds is still possible though).
Those who do not care about being banned from live or are willing to risk it then not much need to worry unless otherwise mentioned (as an example the first leaks of Halo 3 ODST were bad which meant while they would run a good chunk of gameplay was missing).

Little bits of 360 release history will be covered from time to time but if you want to delve into the substantial back catalogue of games for the 360 then
<a href="http://www.abgx.net/filename/?ch=6" target="_blank">http://www.abgx.net/filename/?ch=6</a> has release names and a great deal of info.
Another site that is also very useful is (they are frequently a source of the NFOs posted with these releases)
<a href="http://www.ludibria.com" target="_blank">http://www.ludibria.com</a>
Other sites with useful tools and info are
<a href="http://abgx360.net/" target="_blank">http://abgx360.net/</a> (the homepage for a tool to verify and fix games, once a game is added to their database a more thorough check can be performed).
<a href="http://www.xbins.org/" target="_blank">http://www.xbins.org/</a> the web frontend to an FTP site dedicated to homebrew for the original xbox and 360, easyxbins is a nice tool to access the FTP site ( <a href="http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=29" target="_blank">http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Down...tails&id=29</a> )
We will leave info on how to flash xboxes for games and/or homebrew to other threads as it occasionally moves fast and is better left to them.

As mentioned in the first big paragraph the 360 supports region locking leaving it to developers and publishers to choose what is done (other than German releases what will be done is very unpredictable).
Those without a homebrew enabled 360 (even then it takes a bit of effort) will find region locking is not able to be bypassed on the 360. There is no great worry unless you are sporting a Japanese 360 (English language games are often region locked out and Japanese xbox games can take months to appear) as game releases usually fall very close together region wise these days. Close together means usually within a week and this still usually means before street dates in respective countries.
It has not come up here but it has in other places; region free is region free and it does not matter what territory the game that was ripped comes from so if there is a region free NTSC sourced release and you are in a PAL country do not wait on a PAL release unless you are waiting for a given language as it will not happen (and if it does scene rules tend to mean the release is nuked), similarly we are going to shift to just stating the regions a game is locked to rather than sources to try and eliminate some confusion unless it is unknown at the time of posting.
There are four regions as far as the 360 is concerned being Japan (NTSC-J), USA (NTSC-U), Europe (PAL) and China (NTSC-C), Australia counts as PAL and anyone anywhere else in the world will probably have an imported 360 so I will leave that to the owners to figure out. China and Japan usually overlap along with the rest of Asia but not always (there are not all that many Chinese releases anyhow).

As mentioned there is now a homebrew method that works on new consoles (previous ones would only work on consoles without HDMI) provided you have not done the August 11th 2009 update or any subsequent ones. In the last day or two many more versions of Xell (the homebrew loader) have been compiled so most 360 models are now hackable and the rest should fall shortly.

There are two main options being considered:
1) Flashing a different region code- unless you have a dual nand chip (one region on each) this is a fairly long winded process but it does work.
2) A "rebooter" app- nothing has yet been tried with this newest iteration of the homebrew exploit (a much older incomplete version exists) but the general idea is to (soft) reboot into a custom kernel/similar which handily ignores things like region checking.
These are both either at a very early stage in development, for earlier versions of the 360 or far from a simple end user hack.

A handful of 360 homebrew sites and guides exist (our own forums are also filled with knowledgeable people too) so for the curious
<a href="http://www.free60.org/wiki/Main_Page" target="_blank">Free60 (the base of the current homebrew work)</a>
<a href="http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php?pagename=Free60JtagHack" target="_blank">Euraisa writeup of the new hack and how it works</a>
<a href="http://www.xboxhacker.net" target="_blank">Xboxhacker.net (forums frequented by the Free60 crew and many others)</a>
Any discussion on those sites will be of a highly technical nature and a similar level of knowledge/ability is expected of you if you decide to join in.

<u><b>Nukes</b></u>
Nukes, two new nukes (ABGX now lists 197*). *it will say 196 if you are reading this shortly after I press send as the text database does not regenerate all the time.

<i>update</i>: that will read 198 soon enough as <b>Way_Of_The_Samurai_3_USA_XBOX360-PROTOCOL</b> got nuked just before I pressed send.

<b>WWE_SmackDown_vs_RAW_2010_USA_RF_XBOX360-PROTOCOL</b>- nuked for anydvd style corruption.
Official reason "contains.anydvd.corruption_pastebin.com_m3743529a", this is true do not download reason people (and a rare one at that; we do not see this very often and have not seen it often in recent times) rather than the scene rules sort of thing we usually see. Personally I am happy as it means I can not work on my scathing remarks for the genre overnight, PROTOCOL are usually fairly good so I do not know what happened here.
It was nuked only a couple of hours after release (pre was about 9:30pm and the nuke came just past 11pm UK time) so I doubt it would have spread far. It will not be getting a mention in this main post unless a proper appear in a sensible amount of time after this post.
<a href="http://www.ludibria.com/nfo.php?sys=x36&sysid=1881" target="_blank">Link to NFO at ludbria.com</a>

<b>Way_Of_The_Samurai_3_USA_XBOX360-PROTOCOL</b>- nuked for anydvd style corruption
Official reason: "contains.anydvd.corruption_pastebin.com_f24a5e106", I am guessing PROTOCOL's ripper of choice today was having a bit of an off day. While they have not been the most active of groups their releases have been fairly solid so keep it up guys.

Old post from before it was nuked:
Hopefully redeeming themselves a bit for that nuke (I should not imagine too many people will be all that cut up about the lack of a wrestling game) PROTOCOL also bring us a 360 port of a fairly well received PS3 game (31 in Famitsu) a few days ahead of time. Others were not so kind but having not played it I am not going to comment, from previews/reviews it appears to aim more for Jade Empire style gameplay than ninja gaiden and will probably suffer for it in the eyes of the fans of the latter. I am reminded somewhat of Ronin Blade on the PS1 (soul of the samurai in the US if memory serves) although I doubt it will be as unpleasant as playing a swordfighting game with a distinctly resident evil 1 engine and controls right down to the fixed camera angles.
<a href="http://www.ludibria.com/nfo.php?sys=x36&sysid=1882" target="_blank">Link to NFO at ludbria.com</a>

<b>L.Era.Glaciale.3.PAL.ITALIAN.XBOX360-RoME</b>- grp.req_get.repack
No word other than by group request (nothing in NFOs), repack name is <b>L.Era.Glaciale.3.PAL.REPACK.ITALIAN.XBOX360-RoME</b>
<a href="http://www.ludibria.com/nfo.php?sys=x36&sysid=1877" target="_blank">Link to NFO at ludbria.com (for the repack)</a>

<u><b>Homebrew</b></u>

Nothing new on homebrew but as before it is probably worth checking out xboxhacker.net as it has been a few days now since hacks were released for the slightly later models and some more discussion has been had on the subject.

<u><b>Less notable releases</b></u>

<b>Fallout.3.GOTY.PAL.ITALIAN.XBOX360-RoME</b>- 2 discs, unknown region locking. The Italians appear to be the first to have the game of the year edition of fallout 3 from the scene. The GOTY edition should contain the original game as well as the 5 downloadable addons for those without live or live points to spend on them. I am unsure how the discs will break down (as in will both be needed right away)
<a href="http://www.ludibria.com/nfo.php?sys=x36&sysid=1880" target="_blank">Link to NFO at ludbria.com</a>

<b>UFC_2009_Undisputed_JPN_XBOX360-Caravan</b>- Unknown region locking. Japanese version of UFC_2009, I have not played such a title since the early days of the PS2 so I will refrain from comment here.
<a href="http://www.ludibria.com/nfo.php?sys=x36&sysid=1879" target="_blank">Link to NFO at ludbria.com</a>

Again we will not make it a habit to relay what passes for a "dox" division on the consoles but as we are already doing it some more guides appeared:
<b>Quake.IV.Official.Game.Guide.XBOX360.MAC.PC-Unleashed</b>
<b>Fallout.3.Game.Of.The.Year.Edition.Official.Game.Guide.XBOX360.PS3.PC-Unleashed</b>
<b>Brutal.Legend.Official.Game.Guide.XBOX360.PS3-Unleashed</b>

<b>Additions to ABGX360</b>
We suggest you use the link below and the abgx360 tool as the site does not use scene naming meaning it can be quite hard to tell entries apart, this is just for reference really
ABGX360 ( <a href="http://abgx360.net/verified.php" target="_blank">Web frontend to verified database</a> ) added:
MagnaCarta II (Disc 2) PAL and MagnaCarta II (Disc 1) PAL (at present there has only been one scene release and this would be it)
Dancing Stage Universe PAL
Cabela's African Safari RF
Brutal Legend RF
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection NTSC/U

<!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>Releases</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

Release dates can be found here: <a href="http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/" target="_blank">http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/</a> although the dates on gamefaqs seem to be slightly "off".
As usual these posts will be back as and when something happens, we sight see a few more early releases and region dupes over the weekend.

First a p2p release of borderlands- a local co-op supporting FPS/RPG hybrid with a nice graphics style, "lots" of guns and what my first impressions are inclined to say may be the deus ex of this generation (words I do not utter lightly). It verifies as well as it can under ABGX360, being p2p it has many names available to it but Borderlands.RF.XBOX360 seems to be the one of choice.

There may have been a handful of other p2p releases but as noted we do not report on them unless really noteworthy.

<b>Lips.Number.One.Hits.XBOX360-GLoBAL</b>
Region free.

MS is back with their take on the wannabe musician genre but without the pretence of what might possibly decent music instead opting for the music to slit your wrists to soundtrack

I am not sure we are seeing any more nuke releases than "before" and even if the number has stayed the same then the reasons are usually scene rules (bad NFO, directory naming) or dupes (be they "accidental" or intentional) rather than "technical"/bad dump reasons (ignoring the occasional bad pack, p2p repack or bad spread). Todays two big nukes can quite easily be explained by the same ripper having a troubles courtesy of anydvd as well.

A quick scan of the last few months on the DS says we have also seen more than a few nukes there as well (not that they tend to get reported*), same for wii (even more if you truly account for the long list of propers), PSP is slightly better but only just.

*I am guessing this might be a reason, a twist on gambler's memory: http://www.assissa.eu/easg/friday/0930-ses...k_bartomiej.pdf
