Gaming Xbox 360 HDD Help please.

Okay so my friend got one of thos export devices and wanted to give a try at hacking Halo 3 maps...... (He nevers gets on live) and pulled the HDD out of the device to soon and it corrupted the drive. He put another BIN image on it from his other 360 drive that he backed up.. Not it will read the drive, but the 360 will not. Not he has handed it off to me to try and fix.
I have never messed with the HDD before so I kinds need some help.
Any advice or fixes?

first step would be to see if you can format it from the 360. if that doesn't work then you may need to use the program HDDHackr (google for info) to get the 360 to recognize it as a 360 formatted hard drive again.
