My friend's 360's dvd drive broke, so he replaced it with a new one. He flashed the drive, but now all his games are recognized only as dvds not games...

He did not put the serial in the drive (properly?) when he flashed it. Put it in and spoof if necessary (most tools will autospoof if necessary these days) and then it will work.

the new dvd drive most likely is fine, it just doesn't read the discs now. I had that happen, new drive is your best offer, or siwtch parts with the old one, using the same board.

Jungle flasher, auto spoof as far as serial goes.

The old drive is hitachi and the new one is Benq. Using the jungle flasher, are we supposed to extract the old hitachi drive's DVD key and copy to the new Benq one?

Open the dump (be it from the drive or from the backup you took back when), open said dump using the load source firmware button.
Tell it do not autoload firmware.
Open target firmware and choose the Benq firmware of your choice.

    Press spoof source to target.

    Save to file.

Flash Benq as you would normally but using the firmware you just made.
