Hacking xbox 360 already hacked how can I update the dashboard

Hi all,

I was given an Xbox 360 that is capable of playing backups via DVD not from HDD.
The problem is that it has an old dashboard and it cannot play the latest games.
Is there anyone who can help me out on how to update the dashboard as I don't know how the console was hacked.

P.S. I tried to press the eject button in order to display the CPU key etc but is not showing anything it just boots normaly.

What is your dashboard version?

If it's over 13599, you can update, if it's under, you'll likely need to restore your drive to a stock FW before updating it.

The version is 2.0.12625.0 so, that means that I have to restore the drive to a stock FW? Any tutorials on how to do that? Thank you!

As I don't have the original FW of the drive, is there any problem to update the dashboard without restoring it? Will it brick the console?

It'll halt updating.

You could send the entire 360 to me (just the console) and I could restore it to stock and flash the drive after updating.
